The Junior Solar Sprint offers students an opportunity to learn by means of a friendly competition against their peers where students take responsibility for the design, construction, and performance of a model solar electric vehicle.

| | | 4088351 | Oct 29, 2007 3:33pm | Hidden Valley announces the 2008 Love Your Veggies Nationwide School Lunch Campaign, an initiative that will award $10,000 grants to 51 elementary schools nationwide - one in each state* and one in our hometown of Oakland, California - to support programs that increase student access to and consumption of, fresh vegetables and fruits during school meals.
I pondered this one only for a short time.
Endorsing a corporation who produces predominately products not so good for you doesn't sit well BUT schools ARE in dire need for funding to revamp school lunch programs.
..and they did do a study that showed kids ate more veggies with ranch dressing..hell..used to love the stuff myself.
so...where do you start?
Getting veggies in schools to begin with should be the target..
It's a shame only one elementary school per state will receive this grant.
I hope a bandwagon is formed...
